Each year we support International Mud Day on 29 June and have further developed our mud play range, by adding more information to the mud pack.
We have tons of free downloads to help you set up your mud play. New for 2017 are mud kitchen menus and creepy crawly cafe recipe sheet printables. Muddy Faces Mud Campaign has been up and running since 2011, jump started by a collaboration with Jan White, an early years outdoor specialist.

“Making a mud kitchen” book by Jan White
There is little more important in our physical world than earth and water and they are truly intriguing things, especially when they interact. Mixing soil, water and a range of other natural materials has a foundational role in early childhood which has deep importance and endless possibilities for well-being, development and learning. The breadth and depth of what these experiences offer young children is truly remarkable. Extract from “making a mud kitchen” by Jan white.
Hikaru dorodango are balls of mud, molded by hand into perfect spheres, dried, and polished to an unbelievable luster. The process is simple, but the result makes it seem like alchemy.

Health and Safety
A range of documents by different authors offering an introduction to the concept of risk benefit assessments and templates for assessments. Templates are working documents offering ideas rather than finished assessments. This is to ensure the author of the assessments fully interacts with their own processes. All these documents are a guide to support your own health and safety procedures and are not designed to be complete in any way.
